Michelle Oliveira is the founder of www.marketingyourbusiness.ca, a project management marketing consulting company serving small and mid-sized businesses.
Michelle has a Bachelor of Arts from Brock University, and over 18 years of experience in Marketing Communications, which was the impetus for her opening getsocialtoday.ca. “I feel that there is a great need to help business managers to grow their customer base and social media is a fast and cost-effective way to do this”. As Lisa Ostrikoff states in the Globe and Mail “The evolving social media world offers a handful of great platforms to share content that members of your target market want to consume, offering an incredible opportunity to highlight your industry expertise”.
She has enjoyed teaching Marketing 101 at SenecaCollege, and in 2011, Michelle and her husband Kirk completed the build of their ‘eco-home’ in the Yonge and Sheppard area. Their blog details their green journey, starting in July 2007 as well as the media coverage generated as Michelle tried to ‘recycle’ their house in 2009; as she ran a successful community geothermal drilling event in May 2010 worked with LEAF for a successful tree planting event in May 2011 which was featured in two newspapers on CTV news.
